During the day, we walked down the hill from Land's End (couldn't hike it since it was closed off due to the govt shut down) passing the Cliff House. On separate visits, I was able to enjoy the sunset and long walks along the water. This isn't something I do often (or ever, tbh) since NY beaches are pretty filthy and cannot compare at all. If you're lucky, you'll get to see all of the sand dollars on the shore.

Which of these great locations would you recommend for a family with teenagers who like to dive and surf? We have been to Hawaii, Costa Rica and Tahiti. We are looking for a safe, yet different, cultural experience with exotic plants, fish and animals. We would prefer to stay in one villa, as opposed to multiple rooms in a hotel. We don’t mind if it is far away from Southern California. I realize this may be painful financially.
The word island derives from Middle English iland, from Old English igland (from ig or ieg, similarly meaning 'island' when used independently, and -land carrying its contemporary meaning; cf. Dutch eiland ("island"), German Eiland ("small island")). However, the spelling of the word was modified in the 15th century because of a false etymology caused by an incorrect association with the etymologically unrelated Old French loanword isle, which itself comes from the Latin word insula.[3][4] Old English ieg is actually a cognate of Swedish ö and German Aue, and related to Latin aqua (water).[5]

my Name is Julie. for those of view who have never visited tahiti you are seriously missing out. its beautiful and wild and the people are so nice and the weather is great. we got to eat a giant freshly caught tuna and had a big cook out wih tahitian dancers who tell a story about their islands and history. if your looking for paradise tahiti is it do not forget the passports though. you go out and watch the golden sun dance on the water as you watch it set for the night as it gently washes away the stress of busy cities that we live in. i can’t wait to go back what an adventure yahoo!

It is a single location dive.  A dive the late afternoon during the light and then we come up as planned just before the sunset.  We watch the sunset, a Keys favorite, and then prepare for the second dive.  Once dark, we dive the second dive to witness an amazing transformation of the reef.  New species coming out of the coral, new activity all around, and even surface bioluminescence that you will be delighted to see.  It’s a new world down there and you will be one of the few lucky ones to see it all happen in front of you.
One type of volcanic oceanic island is found in a volcanic island arc. These islands arise from volcanoes where the subduction of one plate under another is occurring. Examples are the Aleutian Islands, the Mariana Islands, and most of Tonga in the Pacific Ocean. The only examples in the Atlantic Ocean are some of the Lesser Antilles and the South Sandwich Islands.
Bali is like Hawaii minus the high price tag and the strip malls but major tourist spots like Kuta and Seminyak are regularly over-run by marauding bands of drunken tourists in high season. With a little exploration, you will find all kinds of hidden gems that are unlike anywhere else such as Pura Ulun Danu Bratan, Candi Dasa and Sanur (or take a boat to the less developed paradise Lombok).
All the above tips are mostly about taking care of yourself. Give back to the ocean by taking care of it also. Do not touch corals, fish or turtles. The only thing you can touch safely is sand and rock and water (that means with your fins also). Read our snorkeling etiquette page for learning how to develop skills for taking a break in the water without having to stand.
Close to this island is a little island that provides excellent snorkeling opportunities. You may even spot a few reef sharks. Bathtub-warm water and fine sand beaches kept me here for over three weeks. It will do the same for you. Visit between November and March for the best weather and the fewest people. May through October sees a harsh monsoon season that shuts the island down. The best way to get there is by boat from Pak Bara.

In many ways, it's kind of a quiet sleepy place that time forgot. It's one of the few places left in San Diego (or the rest of the country for that matter) where the shops are locally owned and managed, for the most part. Some places would welcome a Starbucks or a Target, but for many OBecians this is cause for concern. In a world that is rapidly homogenizing, Ocean Beach stands proud as one of the last real beach towns left in California, and much of that uniqueness stems from all the independent shops and mom-n-pop restaurants in our little town.

During the late spring and summer, San Francisco's characteristic foggy weather frequently envelops the beach. The average temperature for the last 5 years has been 13.2 °C (55.8 °F)[1] However, the beach is popular with surfers and participants in bonfire parties.[citation needed] More beach-friendly weather occurs in late fall and early spring, when fog is less prevalent.
By far the most interesting snorkeling in Bermuda can be found off its western beaches. Arrange a tour to visit the remarkable Western Blue Cut, which contains three shipwrecks—the Constellation, Montana, and Lartington—all within easy swimming distances of each other and all lying in less than 20 feet of fabulously clear water often visited by giant grouper. Note: Wet suits are a must in wintertime.

I am leaving my currentI IT job this winter to go travelling with my gf in South America for a month or two(depending on the budget) and then i want to chill somewhere with a nice beach and vibe for a month or two or 3 or forever :), change my daily routine, give the time to myself to start a blog maybe, think of how can i change my carreer, maybe get inspired to start a b&b in some exotic place etc. Taking cheap spanish classes would be ideal. I ideally somewhere that i can spend 800-900USD max or less ideally.

The fitness boom of the 1980s led to one of the biggest leaps in the evolution of the bikini. According to Mills, "The leg line became superhigh, the front was superlow, and the straps were superthin."[211] Women's magazines used terms like "Bikini Belly",[212] and workout programs were launched to develop a "bikini-worthy body".[213] The tiny "fitness-bikinis" made of lycra were launched to cater to this hardbodied ideal.[214] Movies like Blue Crush and TV reality shows like Surf Girls merged the concepts of bikini models and athletes together, further accentuating the toned body ideal.[215] Some women, motivated by yearly Spring Break festivities that mark the start of the bikini season in North America,[216] engage in eating disorders in an attempt to achieve the ideal bikini body.[215]
In 1994, the bikini became the official uniform of women's Olympic beach volleyball.[175] In 1999, the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) standardized beach volleyball uniforms, with the bikini becoming the required uniform for women.[176] That regulation bottom is called a "bun-hugger",[177] and players names are often written on the back of the bottom.[177]
