During the day, we walked down the hill from Land's End (couldn't hike it since it was closed off due to the govt shut down) passing the Cliff House. On separate visits, I was able to enjoy the sunset and long walks along the water. This isn't something I do often (or ever, tbh) since NY beaches are pretty filthy and cannot compare at all. If you're lucky, you'll get to see all of the sand dollars on the shore.
But Indonesia has more than just Bali. The nearby Gili Islands are another incredible island getaway. Both destinations make for a more active tropical vacation and the weather remains pretty constant all year round (though April to October sees slightly drier weather). Both Bali and the Gili Islands are close enough that you should be able to visit them both on your trip to really get the most out of this idyllic corner of the world.

By mid-morning, all the seafront beach chairs were overlaid with people or place-saving towels, so I checked out the upstairs sundeck. For such a large complex, the sandy beach was actually quite narrow, just a spit of sand ringing the wading pool in front of the sea. It reminded me of million-dollar Malibu beachfront homes where erosion has taken almost all of the sand, leaving behind just the idea of a beach. Still, I wasn’t immune to the satisfaction of being in a bikini in the indoor-outdoor world while regular, old February raged on outside, and there was a particular joy in swiping sand from my ankles as I readjusted.
Northern California beaches. They tend to be cold and windy, and Ocean Beach is no exception. There are those glorious warm days that happen a few times per year in the Fall. If you choose this location for a photo shoot make sure that you wear layers at this location. And arm yourself with hair ties and clips, because it can get windy.  Take it from me, a family photographer (K. Sienk Photography)!
In 1994, the bikini became the official uniform of women's Olympic beach volleyball.[175] In 1999, the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) standardized beach volleyball uniforms, with the bikini becoming the required uniform for women.[176] That regulation bottom is called a "bun-hugger",[177] and players names are often written on the back of the bottom.[177]
Many people make the pilgrimage to Fiji to worship reefs resplendent in forests of lush, soft corals. But here’s the catch: you can’t necessarily find the best snorkeling spots near every island throughout the chain. Our top pick in the whole country is Somosomo Strait, found between the islands of Taveuni and Vanua Levu. And, yes, reefs do encircle the islands starting from shore, but to access the best of the best, namely Rainbow Reef, a boat tour is a must.
Great list, and having been to half these places I can say we have similar tastes in locales. Regarding Costa Rica, there’s another beach town option a bit up the coast from Santa Teresa called Nosara, which I’d recommend checking out for its mix of yoga and surfing. Wi-Fi is pretty slow though, at just 1Mbps in the cafes. Is it the same in Santa Teresa? I will say that having been there just last year, Costa Rica (or at least Nosara) has poor bang for the buck — basically US prices but in a developing country. We couldn’t find a meal there for less than $7.
Looks like you’ve been to some amazing places! I’ve been researching many of these locations because I teach music lessons remotely over Skype, Google Hangouts, and Vsee. Problem is, I generally need REALLY fast internet to have decent connections and it needs to be residential as I can’t bring my saxophone to the local wifi cafe 🙂 I’ve been reading that fibre optic will soon be offered in the US Virgin Islands, but it doesn’t appear to be at this moment. Have you heard of any tropical islands that fit your description of being more mindfulness oriented that also have fast residential service in the range of 30/5 download/upload speed? Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a bunch.

I really liked the atmosphere in Kaohsiung and Kenting, Taiwan as well as Yeosu, South Korea. I enjoyed their beaches, fast wi-fi, and laid back vibe. Kaohsiung is a larger city, but is artsy. Kenting is a tad touristy and expensive, but made up for it with it’s beautiful secluded beaches. Yeosu also has a lot of tourists, but totally unique rock formations and numerous islands along the coast.

By far the most interesting snorkeling in Bermuda can be found off its western beaches. Arrange a tour to visit the remarkable Western Blue Cut, which contains three shipwrecks—the Constellation, Montana, and Lartington—all within easy swimming distances of each other and all lying in less than 20 feet of fabulously clear water often visited by giant grouper. Note: Wet suits are a must in wintertime.
OB is a vibrant, boho-chic neighborhood, with a classic beach bum vibe. Surfers can be found all over, with lots of fishermen and some stellar views. Nearby you can check out antiques shops, beachwear and surf boutiques, organic groceries, taquerias and bars. There is lots of beach culture- plus you can hear the soothing waves crashing into the rocks throughout the day.
A day as exciting as this is sure to wear you out. So when darkness settles over the tropics and the South Seas paradise falls quiet, why not spend the night in one of Tropical Islands' well-appointed lodges? It's also possible to go rustic and stay overnight in a tropical tent. Well-equipped tents of various sizes are available in the rainforest camp within the dome. Set amid the beautiful scenery of the Brandenburg heath, the nearby Tropical Islands campsite offers an ideal mix of camping adventure, water-park fun and wellness holiday across 6,000m². And best of all: Tropical Islands is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year! Check in here for an experience to remember!
Almost all of the Earth's islands are natural and have been formed by tectonic forces or volcanic eruptions. However, artificial (man-made) islands also exist, such as the island in Osaka Bay off the Japanese island of Honshu, on which Kansai International Airport is located. Artificial islands can be built using natural materials (e.g., earth, rock, or sand) or artificial ones (e.g., concrete slabs or recycled waste).[14][15] Sometimes natural islands are artificially enlarged, such as Vasilyevsky Island in the Russian city of St. Petersburg, which had its western shore extended westward by some 0.5 km in the construction of the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg.[16]

Hi Kyle. Greetings from “a 26 year old flight risk”—as I’ve begun calling myself. I pursued a career in information networking with the option to work from home so I could gypsy around. So far, I’ve only spent significant time around US cities, but I want to venture out to somewhere tropical and laid back. Taghazout, Morocco sounds like my kind of place, have any suggestions for where/how to find an inexpensive villa?

When a simple, basic onepiece just won’t do the trick, we recommend women’s swimsuits with some extra-special detailing! We have all tons of embellished cheap swimsuits for women that love to embrace the stares. Wear a jeweled bathing suit or sequined swim suits for a hot glam look. A crochet bikini keeps your look laid-back boho (plus it doubles as a Coachella bralette)!

Awesome article, thank ya! I’ve been to a few of these places — spent a few months in Chiang Mai years ago. I have also spent time in Varkala Beach (Kerala, India), which was a great place to get some Auyrvedic spa treatments and get my head right from the intensity of Northern India. Once I chilled there for a while, I was ready to go north again!
