The Maldives is located in the Indian Ocean and is the smallest Asian country in both population and size. What this country lacks in size, it makes up for in beauty with some of the most gorgeous dive sites and beaches in the world. The government follows a “one island, one resort” policy and limits the height of the resorts to be equal or lesser than the tallest tree.

The 1967 film An Evening in Paris is mostly remembered because it featured Bollywood actress Sharmila Tagore as the first Indian actress to wear a bikini on film. She also posed in a bikini for the glossy Filmfare magazine. The costume shocked a conservative Indian audience, but it also set in motion a trend carried forward by Zeenat Aman in Heera Panna (1973) and Qurbani (1980), Dimple Kapadia in Bobby (1973), and Parveen Babi in Yeh Nazdeekiyan (1982).
In post-World War II Europe, Western Europeans enjoyed their first war-free summer in many years. French designers sought to deliver fashions that matched the liberated mood of the people. Fabric was still in short supply, and in an endeavor to resurrect swimwear sales, two French designers – Jacques Heim and Louis Réard – almost simultaneously launched new two-piece swimsuit designs in 1946. Heim launched a two-piece swimsuit design in Paris that he called the atome, after the smallest known particle of matter. He announced that it was the "world's smallest bathing suit." Although briefer than the two-piece swimsuits of the 1930s, the bottom of Heim's new two-piece beach costume still covered the wearer's navel.
These statues, which average 13 feet in height and weigh about 14 tons, were created between the 10th and 16th century by the early inhabitants of the island. These monolithic stone heads are baffling to researchers who cannot figure out why the Rapa Nui people went through such enormous efforts to create them or how they carved them with primitive tools. Another lingering question is what happened to the Rapa Nui people? Rapa Nui’s early inhabitants came from other Polynesian island to this one to build a unique culture away from any influences. One theory is that they may have built these statues to honor their ancestors but had to leave once they had completely depleted the island resources. Once a thriving culture, Rapa Nui is today almost barren, with no trees and most of its soil being washed away in erosion. All that is left are these enormous monuments as a reminder of human achievement and resilience.

T.I.’s geography is a whiplash-inducing, rapid-fire movement between countries, cultures, and centuries where numerous regionally specific attributes add up to a global nowhere. There is both a medieval castle and a traditional hut from Samoa; a Western town with an intentionally faded, old-school 7-Up ad painted on the wall and also the largest Balinese gate outside of Bali. Later I learn that T.I. commissioned local artisans and architects in Southeast Asia to design and fabricate the structures that were then imported to Germany.
What would you suggest? Panama seems attactive, but am supriced by the cost you put there. I thought it would be more in Bocas.. Its the most touristic area if am not mistaken. Is there some particular town/island/ area your recommend. And am supriced u mentioned Costa Rica as lately you read everywhere how expensive it is compared to the rest. I guess budget wise Nicaragua would be the best. (Every tried it? Any towns?) but for some reason Panama sounds better, more alive, nicer beaches and possibly more accessible.. Is there any place in South America that would could much Panama in cost and beauty?
Morocco is a surreal place. Shepherds ride around on camels, old men tame giant cobras in the markets and the whole place feels like a frontier at the edge of the world. It’s one of the most mysterious and magical places in the world and the Moroccan people are absolutely amazing with their kindness and hospitality. It’s also super cheap and the southern coast is a magnet for European surfers and expats looking for a simpler life without going too far from home.
One of our favorite things about two-piece womens bathing suits that you don’t get with one piece swimsuits is mixing and matching different colored swim suit tops and bottoms! 1927: First use of swimmer's breathing tube and mask. According to Dr Gilbert Doukan's 1957 World Beneath the Waves and cited elsewhere, "In 1927, and during each summer from 1927 to 1930, on the beach of La Croix-Valmer, Jacques O'Marchal could be seen using the first face mask and the first breathing tube. He exhibited them, in fact, in 1931, at the International Nautical Show. On his feet, moreover, he wore the first 'flippers' designed by Captain de Corlieu, the use of which was to become universal."
With the reunification of Germany in 1989/1990, the Soviet Army agreed to return all military bases by 1994. Returned to the Federal Government of Germany in 1992, Cargolifter AG bought the former military airfield to construct airships. They began development of a new construction hall, 360 metres long, 210 metres wide and 107 metres high, which cost €78 million. At 5.5 million m³ (194 million ft³), it is one of the largest buildings on Earth by volume, and is the world's largest single hall without supporting pillars inside. The hangar was commissioned as an airship hangar named Aerium in November 2000, but the airship it was intended to house – the CL160 – was never built. CargoLifter went bankrupt in mid-2002.
I've been to a lot of beaches, and this is one of the more beautiful beaches in California. And it wasn't crowded, the people here are friendly and the beach looks very clean. There are Mountain Views on the north side of the beach and many cafés surrounding on the east. You should come out and enjoy a day of fun! There was also a lot of parking and bathroom so very assessable facilities.
Experience the stunning underwater world of diving in Key West. The blue waters surrounding the Southernmost City offer world-class wreck diving. On May 27, 2009, the U.S.N.S. Gen. Hoyt S. Vandenberg intentionally sunk to create an artificial reef in 140 feet of water, seven miles off Key West. The Vandenberg is the second largest ship purposely sunk as an artificial reef. It is now the southern anchor of the Florida Keys Shipwreck Trail. Learn more about diving the Vandenberg!
During the day, we walked down the hill from Land's End (couldn't hike it since it was closed off due to the govt shut down) passing the Cliff House. On separate visits, I was able to enjoy the sunset and long walks along the water. This isn't something I do often (or ever, tbh) since NY beaches are pretty filthy and cannot compare at all. If you're lucky, you'll get to see all of the sand dollars on the shore.
All existing new-generation snorkel-masks (see Figure 3) are full-face masks covering the eyes, the nose and the mouth. They enable surface snorkellers to breathe nasally or orally and may be a workaround in the case of surface snorkellers who gag in response to the presence of standard snorkel mouthpieces in their mouths. Some old-generation snorkel-masks (See Figure 11) are full-face masks covering the eyes, nose and mouth, while others exclude the mouth, covering the eyes and the nose only. The 1950s US Divers "Marino" hybrid comprised a single snorkel mask with eye and nose coverage and a separate snorkel for the mouth.

Free WiFi access is available in many spots in the resort.
Sitting at 1,562 m (5,125 ft) high in the highlands of western Guatemala, Lago de Atitlan is a little piece of paradise. Despite not being a tropical island or an oceanside beach town, this place is worth mentioning because it’s uniquely amazing. Surrounded by 3 massive volcanos, traditional Mayan villages, yoga retreats and coffee plantations means there is a lot to explore and discover.
“A tropical sea, sandy beach and palm trees - this is written in a home page of Tropical Island. OK - there si no sea, just few pools with sweet water - 2 inside and L outside (in the winter time), wild river outside. In pools some atrrcations for small kids and some tobogans. most areas are tropical plants and trees, shops, automats, restaurans. Small part of area is wellness with some sanunas, possibility of massage(for extra payment of course). Sauna rituals are abut nothing . You will not receive towel , you must bring your own or pay for 3,5EUR to rent. You have to pay for lockable cupboard - capacity for 2-3 peoples (winter time). Sandy beach - sand was cold and wet. On the other side I must say that environment was excellent. Ok - my opinion - it wasd very nice to see this, but this is not aquapark , just overpriced botanic garden. My opinion is based on the experience of visiting in the winter.”

The sling bikini (also known as sling-kini, onepiecekini or sling swimsuit) is an unbroken suit, technically one-piece, which resembles a bikini bottom with the side straps extending upwards to cover the breasts and go over the shoulders, or encircling the neck while a second set of straps pass around the midriff (also known as pretzel bikini or pretzel swimsuit). Sling swimsuits emerged in the early 1990s, and were introduced into the mainstream in 1994. When designed for or worn by a man, it is called a mankini, popularized by Sacha Baron Cohen in the film Borat.
By far the most interesting snorkeling in Bermuda can be found off its western beaches. Arrange a tour to visit the remarkable Western Blue Cut, which contains three shipwrecks—the Constellation, Montana, and Lartington—all within easy swimming distances of each other and all lying in less than 20 feet of fabulously clear water often visited by giant grouper. Note: Wet suits are a must in wintertime.

Snorkeling between Salomon Bay beach and Honeymoon Beach has long been a favorite because of the abundance of octopus and psychedelic parrot fish you'll encounter. Although just north of busy Cruz Bay, you'll need to hike a mile-long trail beginning at the National Park Visitor's Center (water sports gear is available to rent at a small shack-cum-bar).

Snorkeling is a very popular sport for the young and old alike. Masks, snorkels, and fins provide comfort and freedom to swim and dive like a fish. But you must learn the use of each to achieve full enjoyment. Each item has an important function of its own. It should be emphasized that in any sport, the broader your knowledge and understanding, the better. It is strongly advised that you practice first in shallow water or a pool to get used to the equipment and gain confidence. Snorkeling is a wonderful activity that can be enjoyed by almost anyone. Basic snorkeling gear, along with a body of water and an hour of time is all that anyone needs to become a snorkeler. If you haven't already, give it a try - you'll love the new world beneath the water!
The scuba diving equipment is more complex and heavier compared to that of snorkeling. It comprises a pressurized gas tank filled with Enriched Air Nitrox with extra oxygen: 36% oxygen and therefore less nitrogen to reduce decompression sickness. In the "single-hose" two-stage design, the first stage regulator reduces the cylinder pressure of about 200 bar (3000 psi) to an intermediate level of about 10 bar (145 psi). The second stage demand valve regulator, connected via a low pressure hose to the first stage, delivers the breathing gas at the correct ambient pressure to the diver's mouth and lungs. The diver's exhaled gases are exhausted directly to the environment as waste. The first stage typically has at least one outlet delivering breathing gas at unreduced tank pressure. This is connected to the diver's pressure gauge or computer, in order to show how much breathing gas remains.
